THERETHERE (2020) |
| “Whenever you get there, there is no there there” This work takes its title from Gertrude Stein’s remark in her memoir, Everybody’s Autobiography (1933). I find myself inhabiting surreal circumstances amid social distancing and movement restriction controls in an already impossible world. I consider the form of the digitalized “live” work an absurd paradox. In this performance for the camera, a dancer is seen starting over and over again from screen left. |
